Cacao Tablets: Toasted Rice and Almonds

Our Cacao tablets are made from ceremonial grade cacao imported from local farmers in the Northern/Mayan regions of Guatemalan. We roast the cacao ourselves and then stone grind it with turbinado sugar, toasted long grain rice, and toasted almonds.
The addition of almonds and toasted rice to the chocolate tablets creates a silky artisanal mouthfeel reminiscent of the cacao tablets from local panaderias in Guatemala selling hot chocolate tablets, but also smooth enough to enjoy plain.
For the creamiest silky hot cacao, we recommend heating up the milk of your choice on the stove (oat milk is our favorite) and adding our cacao tablets to taste and simmering for 3-5 minutes.
