About Us
Rooted in Guatemala. Built with Intention.
Altiplano Reserve began with a with a simple conviction that coffee tastes better when it is rooted n place, relationships, and restraint.
Founded by Jennifer Nemecek after more than a decade of living and working in Guatemala, Altiplano Reserve is built on long-standing familiarity with the country's landscapes, communities, regional profiles, and coffee traditions. This is not a project born of brief visits or trends, but of lived experience - learning how place, process, and people shape what ends up in the cup.
We focus exclusively on Guatemalan coffee because depth matters more than breadth.
Guatemala's high elevations, volcanic soils, and diverse microclimates allow for extraordinary range within a single origin. By working with one country, we can source thoughtfully, build clarity into our selections, and maintain long-term relationships rather than chasing novelty.
Every coffee we offer is roasted to order in small batches. This approach minimizes waste, protects freshness, and allows us to treat each lot with the care it deserves. We prioritize transparent sourcing, careful roasting, and honest representation - avoiding exaggeration, shortcuts, or excess.
Altiplano Reserve is a small operation by design. We believe premium coffee doesn't need hype, complexity, or constant reinvention. It needs respect for origin, attention to process, and a willingness to let the coffee speak for itself.
Guatemala is origin.
